Roland Grebe

Board Member for Human Resources and IT

Roland Grebe (b. 1960) studied electrical engineering and has been working in various management positions in the development area at SMA since 1984. He developed the first PV inverters that form the basis of SMA’s Sunny Boy and Sunny Central inverters. Roland Grebe transformed the central inverter area from an individual project processor into a serial manufacturer for power plant technology and developed SMA’s grid integration competence to secure the future commercial viability of our products. Since June 2009, Roland Grebe has been a member of the Managing Board. Since March 2015, he has been responsible for Human Resources and IT. Roland Grebe also serves as labor director of SMA.

Jürgen Reinert

Board Member for Technology

After receiving his doctorate, Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Reinert (b. 1968) began his career as chiefengineer at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) in Aachen, Germany. For over 11 years he worked at Emotron in Sweden, during the last years as board member for R&D and Operations. From 2011 to 2014, he was responsible for the Power Plant Solutions division at SMA. Under his leadership, SMA was successful in expanding its worldwide project business and developing turnkey system solutions for large-scale PV power plants. Since April 2014, Jürgen Reinert has been a member of the Managing Board and since March 2015, he is Chief Technology Officer. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Reinert is a member of the Supervisory Board at Danfoss A/S.


Pierre-Pascal Urbon

Board Member for Strategy and Finance/CEO

Pierre-Pascal Urbon (b. 1970) studied business administration and was active in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) consulting until 2005—when he joined SMA. In 2006, he was appointed to the Managing Board. In 2011, he was appointed CEO. Pierre-Pascal Urbon planned SMA’s initial public offering and the cooperation with Danfoss A/S. He has also decisively advanced the Group’s internationalization. As Board Member for Strategy and Finance/CEO, he has been responsible for the Company’s strategic direction and Chinese subsidiary Zeversolar as well as for driving internationalization. Pierre-Pascal Urbon is also in charge of Finance, Legal and Compliance.
