Adelanto Solar Power Plant

Maximum reliability with SUNNY CENTRAL 800CP

The Adelanto Solar Power Plant pairs the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the nation’s largest municipal utility, with SolarWorld, the largest solar module manufacturer in the U.S. This 10,4 megawatt AC solar photovoltaic power plant, designed and procured by SolarWorld, is located near the town of Adelanto on a 40-acre site 65 miles north of Los Angeles. The plant features 13 SMA Sunny Central 800CP inverters and more than 46.000 SolarWorld 250 watt panels mounted on more than 5 million pounds of SolarWorld Sunfix Ground Mount racking.

“The Adelanto project is a milestone in SMA and SolarWorld’s long-standing partnership in the Americas,” said Julie Ungerleider, head of systems for SolarWorld Americas. “SMA’s record of quality and performance make their product a natural choice as we continue to grow our EPC business.”

The system, commissioned in July 2012, is expected to generate 515.700 MWh of electricity over its 25-year life, the equivalent of powering 85.850 homes each for one year and replacing 290.000 metric tons of CO2.
