For a mountain cabin, an isolated garden house in the country, a vacation home on an island or for those who just want to be off the grid: SMA’s Off-Grid System allows you to be self-sufficient anywhere and at any time.

  • Monitors, plans, controls: The Sunny Home Manager controls power generation quickly, becomes familiar with all the energy flows in your home and uses intelligent planning to harmonize power generation and consumption schedules. Using the optional SMA radio-controlled sockets, household appliances, such as your washing machine or dishwasher, can be automatically controlled.

  • Temporary storage: Excess power is stored in lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries for later use. This means solar power can also be used at night.

  • The heart of the photovoltaic system: The inverter converts the direct current produced by PV modules into alternating current you can use. Depending on demand, it is used directly in the home or fed into the utility grid.

  • Loading and discharging: The stand-alone inverter controls loading and discharging for the battery storage system. This makes it the hub of a reliable and self-sufficient power supply. Particularly robust and flexible, it is ideal for all system configurations between 3 and 300 kilowatts.

  • Uninterruptible operation of appliances: Guarantees your off-grid system always has sufficient power ready to cover your energy needs, for example from PV, wind or diesel generators, or storage devices.
