Sunny Tripower CORE1 are the first inverters listed to standard UL 3741 PV Hazard Control for NEC 690.12 compliance. During registration of the system in Sunny Portal, the installer simply checks a box to activate SMA Smart Connected which commences automatic inverter monitoring by SMA.
SMA automatically monitors the inverter to identify events around-the-clock. Both installers and their customers benefit from SMA's many years of experience diagnosing sophisticated inverter technology.
After a fault has been diagnosed and analyzed, SMA informs the installer and PV system operator immediately by email. So all parties are proactively prepared for the troubleshooting process ensuring minimum downtime and reducing truck roll costs.
In the rare event that a replacement component is necessary, SMA automatically supplies a replacement component within one to three days of the fault diagnosis. The installer can then contact the PV system operator of his/her own accord and repair the inverter immediately.

SMA Data Manager M is the ideal professional system interface for electric utility companies, service technicians and PV system operators. In combination with the new Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS, the Data Manager M optimizes communication, monitoring and control of PV systems with up to 50 SMA devices.
MoreSMA Modbus interfaces provide support for the industry standard protocol for communications between electronic devices. Modbus interfaces enable the integration of SMA products with products from other suppliers for system monitoring and control.
MoreSMA offers surge protection device (SPD) modules for inverter AC and DC connections in either Type 2 or Type 1+2 protection levels to protect the inverter from sudden voltage surges and spikes caused by lightning or grid switching events. These SPD modules are completely field serviceable and may be added or replaced at any time during the PV system service life to help reduce costly downtime due to the damaging effects of transient events.
With the SMA Sensor Module external weather sensors for solar irradiation, ambient and module temperature, and wind speed can be connected directly to the inverter, eliminating the need for a separate weather station datalogger and enclosure. Sensor data logged by the inverter is available in SMA Sunny Portal and through the inverter's Modbus protocol interfaces.
